Pilot Bearing failure 140-160

Hey folks,
Just had one of those gut wrenching moments when something goes wrong.
The old 142E with a OD tranny, would not shift into gear. Running through the gear pattern got a shift, but the clutch seems to still be engaged with a light contact when the clutch is in.
I had heard some rattling going on for a while, usually affected by depression of the cluctch.
Of course I will check the clutch cable, but with the recent rattling, I suspect the pilot bearing. What do you folks think? Looks like I'll be replacing the clutch also.just because I will have it out.
Any easy ways to get a failed pilot bearing out?. And what is the proper way to insert it into flywheel?

Thanks

Joel
