AC Retrofit 700 1992

fellow bricksters:
I'm in the process of changing the ac sysytem to r134. This is my first time to try and tackle this type of work. I've printed Mr. Dave Urban's illustrated guide to help me along.

The system's remaining r-12 had been recovered by a local shop (for free) and I get a pat on the back for being an environmentally concerned citizen.

The previous owner of the car informed me that the ac clutch was bad when I got the car about 10 mos ago. The drive belt to the ac comp was already off and when turned manually, the clutch pulley doesn't turn smoothly. So, I'm quite sure the PO didn't lie to me.

I've replaced the ac comp with a remanufactured one and I'm still waiting for the retrofit kit from FCP. I borrowed a gauge manifold and a vacuum pump, bought some refrigerants and fill hose with valve and gauge. I think I'm all set.

I've only got one question: How is the ac comp or should I say the ac clutch wired to ground. It looks like it is isolated from ground by all the mounting bracket bushings. I've seen only one wire coming out of the clutch and it goes to a plastic connector with green/red wire if my memory serves me right. HELP!

I welcome all other comments and tips that you gents and ladies would care to share to make this job go smoothly. Thanks in advance.

Denny
