Finally I've joined the wagon team. Found a '73 145 that needs lots of work, but the engine is strong and the manual transmission is tight. Even the 3rd seat is there, although it needs a few screws. The other seats are all ripped. But amazing how well the leather looks after all those years. On the fender it says "DOHC Turbo" and on the bonnet there are flames drawn with black marker pen. What more do you want!
I've still got the 164 that is deregistered, and I have decided to use it for parts for the 145. The B30E just needs injectors fitted, then I can either sell the engine on it's own or donate the car to the demo derby after stripping the parts that I want. Sorry guys, this one is in New Zealand so unless you are willing to pay lots of shipping...
The 145 has a B20A, and as said it drives well. The car is still registered, and the seller owns a garage so he did his own 6-monthly "worrant of fitness" inspections... So there are a few things wrong, but it is 5 months before the next inspection. Paid NZ$200 (US$125) with 2/3 tank of fuel and a tow bar and 3 months of registration left (NZ$50), so it is a bargain.
My '71 144 is waiting for funds to get resprayed (paint faded differently on different panels, few minor scratches, few very minor dents) and the engine seals replaced (i.e. neoprene timing cover conversion), 'till then I'll be driving the 145 yellow brick.
