how do I determine which refrigerant is in my A/C? 700 1987

My A/C hasn't needed service since I got the car from the original owner 7 years ago. There is no 134a sticker on the car, but there is a 134a sort of quick connect charging port on the dryer. Does that mean someone made the conversion and failed to label the car?
