240 Dream Come True - 92 5speed new to me

Just bought a 92 244 after 4+ years of looking for a 90-93 5speed @ 100K in great condition.

Details: original shiny silver paint; LEATHER interior in perfect condition; just under 110K miles; cruise control, functional air conditioning (for now - R12). The car has add-on options from the original dealer, including Volvo remote keyless entry + alarm and Bosch fog lights in front, plus Corona rims with the small center caps, which I believe weren't offered in the 1990s. Always in California - no rust whatsoever, no body damage.

Found it on Craigslist while visiting family in the Bay Area - a lot more 240s up there. The nice gentleman who owned the car since 2000 provided all records since then and kept it garaged under a cover. Drove it down Interstate 5 yesterday (about 500 miles) and get this - 30 MPG! I've gotten 28 mpg in the wagon before but never broke the 30 mark.

Sure, it is 15 years old and has some of the normal issues (and will need zero-mile-list attention), but it looks and drives like it just rolled off the new car lot back when I graduated from high school! The 5 speed doesn't make it much more zippy, but it sure is fun. Red block nirvana. Now I have to sell the other 92 - bummer, as that was our wedding car.

For those of you looking for the RWD of your dreams, they might very well be out there. Keep leaving notes on cars and checking around. I'll be back here more often as I start to tend to this new sedan.

Best regards!
