Oil recomendations 200

I got my oil changed in my 89 240 brick and put 10w30 havoline ( I don't know how spell it) brand oil in it.The car has 186 lamost 187k miles on it. I have driven it 16 k miles, yes that is 16,000 not 1600, sence DEC of 05. I do intown and a lot of short trips at hwy speeds of about 80mph ( yea I know speed limit is 65mph) should I put heavier oil in it? Is there a specific brand that is better than another? what about oil filter? I will NOT put quakerstate in my car last car I put it in, lets just say the name fit it put it in a quakerstate.
