I've decided that instead of flaking black paint over chrome trim, my '93 would look better with just the chrome. If the black paint wasn't inclined to chip and flake - maybe. But the problem with painting polished metal, especially one like stainless steel, is that nothing likes to adhere, and it looks to me like Volvo did a quickie job of blacking out the chrome on the late 240's. So away the paint goes.
So, number A: the trim that runs along the roof and under the windows - how do I remove it without screwing up? 2: I've got a GL sitting here that drips with shiney metal - can the chrome trim surrounding the front and rear windshields be put on my '93? I have no knowledge of windsheilds or how they go in and how the chrome trim attaches to it is not readily apparent. Anyone know?
Also, when I was in Front Royal last year a 242 was parked in the middle of town and, you know those little triangle pieces of trim screwed on at the rear corner of the roof to hide the seam? Those were polished instead of painted body-color and on that metallic red it looked SWEET. I'm going to try it but I'd like to know what year and trim level that appeared on. Just for the sake of the knowledge.
Thanks much.
