Hello forum,
My AC compressor died, so I got a new one from a junkyard. After removing the old one and putting the new one in, I noticed that a wire had frayed and bent from the new compressor and was no longer attached. I'm not sure what wire it is, exactly. I called Volvo to see if they had a replacement wire, but they said that it only comes with the entire solenoid, which costs $140 (as much as the used compressor).
The wire that needs to be repaired is one of two that is attached to the nut that screws directly into the compressor on the right hand side. Can I just solder and liquid duct tape it back into place? If I attempt this and screw it up will it harm the compressor (and worse, void the warranty?) I would return the compressor, but it was such a pain to get that thing in there. I'd love to just fix the wire.
Thank you in advance!
Kip
