940 Auto Transmission 900 1993

Hi everyone,
I was just curious as to how hard/rough these transmissions usually shift. When shifting out of park into a gear such as drive and park, it seems like it bangs into gear and you can feel it in the car. Also just normal upshifts seem hard. They kind of lurch the car and are not smooth like any other "modern" car I've driven.

Any comments would be appreciated, as well as suggestions if it's the transmission isn't supposed to be as rough as it is.
