Following-up on my caliper removal mishap...
Got the lower bolt off by filing down three sides so that a 15mm wrench fit, but the top is just hopeless. No room for leverage, and impact rapidly rounded it. Got the best wench I could find, but even then the socket portion of it is concave so it worked it's way out on the bolt under force, rounding it. Filing hasn't helped this one. It's made it lots easier to round.
So, I'll try cutting the head off and extracting the bolt from the inside. I'm guessing there's a 100% chance I'll botch this too because of where it is so I'd like to know beforehand:
Do I need to replace both calipers on the axle if I need one new one?
Might as well do the rotor too... Replace as an axle set or one?
E-brake shoes/hardware... same question. The passenger's side is fine, the diver's not.
Further advice is naturally welcomed. More of the derision I've heard from shops is not!
Thanks & Cheers, -Sean
