Window stuckin up position 200 1992

The passenger side front window, of my 1992 Volvo 240, is stuck in the up position. I bought the car with this problem. I thought that the wire to the window regulator is broken,but it was not. I then thought that the regulator is bad. I tried to remove it(the regulator) but with alot of bolts out and the window is in the up position, it is not coming out. I am puzzled. I definitely could use some suggestions. Thanks.
