Bought my '90 5sp sedan used. It had a trailer hitch installed.
Speedometer reads 10% faster than I am going, I can feel that the car is geared lower in each of the five gears, compared to my '91.
Car tends to 'crab walk' when backing out of a parking spot and turning. When I put it in forward gear after a 'crab walk' event, there is a pronounced clunk.
There is no perceptible clunk when I go on- and off-the-gas, so I don't think there is excessive play in the drive train.
My current theory is that it is a LSD with a problem, or with the wrong oil in it, but I don't know how to tell what differential I have. I've not noticed any markings, though I have not compared it side-by-side with the '91.
QUESTIONS - How to identify my differential?
Once I know, what oil is appropriate?
Thanks!!
