power steering issues 200 1986

after a brisk "jog" from Washington DC to Pittsburgh, non-stop...my power steering began to moan a bit when under load and was accompanied by a slight buzzing sensation in the steering wheel...I was only about 2 miles away from my destination (and it was 4am) when it began so I simply finished the drive. the next morning I opened the fluid resevoiur and found that it was very low...as in the dip stick couldn't reach it, but there was aprox. 1/4 inch of still circulating fluid in it. I simply added some ATF which I keep at all times and it has been fine ever since...100 miles or so that is. I have noticed a bit of a leak on the pavement under the car in the mornings, so I climbed under her and noted that the rack is in top shape and the pump is not leaking...that leaves only the lines...but I cannot find a leak in them to save my life...the underside of the car has an even thin coat of fluid but no leaks are visible even when the car is running and the pump is loaded. I think it may only be when the lines are under max pressure such as in high rpm, loaded states...or residual pressure as in just after parking her from a max pressure situation...the short of the question is...have any of you ever used a leak stopping additive for power steering and what were the results? are there any other places that i should look for a leak?
