Thinking of stepping back into the fray... 140-160

1968 Volvo 145 on craiglist.

This link will die in a couple weeks from 9/7/2006 ...

http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/car/203014487.html

Here's the details he sent me...

"The location is approximately 10 miles west of the I-57 Manteno exit which is about 45-55 minutes south of downtown.
The rust around the fenders rusted out the area where the spare tire was carried. I sealed everything with fiberglass and the light blue you see in the photos is fiberglass work pre-sanded. If you have any further questions please give me a call tomorrow I am in from 8-5 your time."

E-mail me if you are close and want his contact info.

Anything really special about the first year?

The one thing I didn't like about my '73 and '74 was banging my knee into the center console.

I try to think of what else would prevent this from being good: bent wheels, brake parts unavailable, tires unavailable, 4-speed revs. I don't think I want to do another t5 conversion, although the '74 was excellent, eventually. No roof rack. I gave away my superduty roof rack.

Balljoints, bushings still available? I'd need to buy a small hydraulic press this time. The balljoint kit is good, but I want fewer scraped knuckles.

Maybe I will just drive down to look and hope that the jack points rails are shot. Or not.

Later schlater.
