Can the reservoir be removed from the master cylinder without ruining it? 200

Got home tonight and found my new (the RIGHT one this time) clutch cable and master cylinder had been delivered.

Master cylinder looks right, but the reservoir on top does not match my original one. There is no place to put the brake fluid level sensor on the new reservoir.

I will try to put up a photo, though I have never managed to put up a photo before. Here goes:

Anyway, if I pry the reservoir off the old MC and put it on the new one, will it break or leak?

Should I just forget about the fluid level sensor?

Thanks!
