240 brakes options / ?s 200

my very nice 89 240wagon seems to be in need of somesort of brake work?

it seems that they a making noise and fade quite noticeably after driving around all afternoon say.

i am quite budget sensitive at the moment

so... I'm wondering what to do now? I am not the most mechanical person on earth but I am quite cabable of reading instructions and whatnot.

I guess I was going to take the car in and see what they say...

but assuming they say i need expensive work... how good an idea / difficult is it to perform the brake work myself? say i needed pads / rotors something like that?

on that note is this kit a good idea?

anyone used this FCP Groton, LLC stuff?

also if any of y'all are in the San Diego (north SB, DEL MAR, Encinitas area) and are pro at the volvo mechanics type stuff... i might be interested in trying to work some sort of a deal to get some help / training on the volvo repair stuff.

anyway... thats about it... i guess thank you for reading and whatnot.
