How to wire in a 'Rally gauge' instrument pack 140-160 1973

Hi,
I've had one of these 4 gauge plus speedo plus tach instrument packs in my 142 for a while and it works fine, but was looking a bit tired. So I bought another on ebay, but the wiring is slightly different. My old one had 2 pin plug (with a locating plastic pin) that brought switched power to the board. It was located on the bottom left (looking at the board from the rear). My new board doesn't have this, or any obvious way to bring switched power. Plus it doesn't work so I guess it needs that power.
The numbers I can find on the PC board for reference are

X 16.120/7271

993 087 121

and near the letters VDO there is

1234 016

Can anybody tell me how to get power or otherwise wire the board up?
Incidentally, both boards have a two pin plug near the votage stabiliser that doesn't seem to have any wires to go to it. Any idea what it is for?

Thanks in advance
