The other afternoon the Volvos descended upon my house. They came from near and far. They filled the air (the 88's both filled it with NOx). They covered the land. They took all the best parking spaces.

Our three were all home for a change. My mechanic friend was over with (my wife's former car) the 82 Turbo. My downstairs neighbor came home in the 88 sedan showing off extreme steering angles in the picture. She just bought that from me to replace a very unhappy 85 Peugeot. May not sound like it, but it's a big step up, believe me.
Another friend, who used to be our downstairs neighbor, dropped by for a quick visit in her 90. ("Needs a clutch," says she, at 229K.) I had everything lined up for a picture, when the mechanic's wife showed up unexpectedly, and pulled in the driveway, in the 94 850.
I think 7 is a record for running, registered Volvos at my house. But I still have 4 or 5 friends who stop by for a beer who also have Volvos, and there are another 4 or so who live in town that I work on semi-regularly. If you ever see a gold one here, rest assured it's not mine. Nothing personal mind you, I just can't have a gold car.
Anyway, the headline is a trick question, because you can't see the 84 242DL behind the house. The taillights are visible from the street if you look at just the right angle, but it doesn't show in the picture.
The really good news is, the Peugeot is gone! Someone wanted it bad enough to show up with a car trailer and haul it away! (Is there some kind of a French le Bord du Bric that can help people like that?) I have my whole driveway back and can actually once again park ALL my cars off the street if I need to. In other good news, I've already gotten all my snow tires straightened out for the season, way ahead of time. Traded a set of worn 15" Hakka 1's (2 seasons) for a set of very new (1/2 season) 14" Hakka 2's. I had to cart things back and forth to the shop and help pull rims off a junk but in the end I get a set of newer tires and my friend gets 15" snows he can run on his 945T.
Anyway enough about me. Post some pics folks, winter's coming up fast!
