Screw the Rims for now they just hit the back burner.
Went looking for the last two pieces of missing trim for my semi-faithful 1986 245DL Inga. Several yards were checked out with zero success when on a random whim turned into a yard with out the word import on the sign. Asked about any 240's on the lot and he said no, but suddenly a voice in Spanish said something to him about Volvo. Made out in Spanglish “not on the inventory list”. Guy at the counter go and see it, and there was a worn out rusty red 245DL hiding in the weeds in the back It had the missing sections of trim. Inga is going to be restored to her days of old with all her trim. While the yard guy was going to get a couple of tools, opened the hood and you know that harness looks pretty good. What year is this, and OH MY GOD it is a 1988 with a supple intact engine harness. I paid for it on the spot and will go and pull it myself this Friday. When I was describing the harness to my wife she told me I had better be talking about a car part. May have been a bad choice to use supple and beautiful in the same sentence, when talking about a engine harness anyway.
Any words of warning, tricks, and tips you can pass along would be greatly appreciated before I lower the lance and charge the windmill. I do plan to number and photograph the removal of the harness.
Thanks in advance for your help,
PT
