dumb question on fuel rail connector 200 1993

I love reading all the clever stories in brickboard. I wish i had known about it years earlier.
Just in case i need to disconnect the rubber hose from the fuel pump where it meets the fuel injector rail, how does the connection from the heavy rubber hose to the metal tube/nut work? The short metal tubing going from the nut attaching to the fuel rail goes into the rubber hose and disappears. How does that connection not leak? Also does that tubing into the rubber hose spin if and when i loosen the nut connecting it to the fuel rail?
