Intake/Exhaust manifold gasket question 444-544

Hi Guys. Just received an int/ex manifold gasket for my B18D from IPD. On one side of the gasket there's a special coating on the ports for the no. 1 and no. 4 exhaust ports. On the opposite side of the gasket the surface is uniform throughout. Could someone please tell me which side of the gasket goes against the head? Thanks in advance for any help.
