Wipers don't park 1800

I've got a 68 1800s that I'm in the process of resurrecting & one of the problems it has is wipers that don't park & only have slow speed. I've already tried a different switch which did the same thing. I've got a 72 145 parts car. Are the wiper motors compatible? I know I'd have to change the swsitch too. Alternatively is there something in the wiring I'm missing? The wiring diagram in the owner's manual shows no colors so I'm a little in the dark there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
