740 Cold Start Problems 700 1990

1990 740 nonturbo 195k miles. One morning it decided not to start. My usual garage went crazy trying to find the problem. Replaced spark plugs and wires, distributor and rotor, both fuel pumps and filter, and engine temperature sensor. It runs much better, but Cold Starting is a major problem- have to crank and crank to get it to go. Hot starting is no issue. Ideas?
