OD driving me crazy 200 1984

Hi all - I need some help diagnosing my ongoing OD headache.

My 84 245(M46) is "dropping out" of overdrive intermittantly. The problem is that when I switch the OD "in" it will always engage, but it could remain engaged for 10 seconds or 30 minutes. I have tried to see if the disengagement is related to hard acceleration, bumps - anything - and it doesn't seem to make any difference. When it disengages, the light goes out as well.

I have performed as many of the tests as I could as outlined in the boards here and everything seems to be working properly. I have replaced the shifter switch, OD relay, repaired/replaced all the wiring and connectors to the OD. I was convinced that the problem was related to having low trans fluid, but after checking and filling the thing several times, the problem continues. The OD transmission was rebuilt in Aug. '03 with the generous help of the ODGuru himself.

I am intending to drive this car from Texas to Oregon and back over Christmas and cannot fathom doing that in 4th gear! Any more suggestions before I take it into the $hop?

Thanks,
Craig

84 245/M46 285K and going strong.
