Clutch pedal groan/creak with Eng off Tip. 700

Battled a creak/groan with the clutch(M46). Sound came from drivers kick panel, so stood on my head and greased the cable. Still there. Finally got the a** yesterday to fix this. After removing knee panel above drivers knees. Shine a flashlight from the emerg brake release area towards the firewall. Where the cable connects above the clutch pedal. Its covered with some duct type tape. Remove the tape, and you'll see the end of the clutch cable with a "T" type end. Grease that entire area. Silence finally.
