weber DGEV elec choke 120-130

I have never gotten this thing to work, mostly because i have never figured out what to connect the spade connector to that sticks out of the electric choke. I tried lest winter to connect it to direct current from the battery and it made not a sign of difference.
Thinking about it over the summer, as i didn't need it, i wondered if it may be designed for an electronic temb gauge, not applicable for the 122. On the other hand, it may not have ever worked or I may have blown it with the direct current test, i don't know. I was wondering if anyone ran this elec choke version of the weber carb that has thier choke working. I found that i could set up a sortof choke/artificial idle by tightening the adjustment screw located behind the choke mechinism, but it isn't ideal because it's not reliable for a steady idle and i can't shut it off once the car has warmed up. Seeing as how winter has came once more to me and my baby, i just figured id ask...

What does the choke spade terminal hook up to?

Is there a test i can run on it to see if it is working or need replacing?

How is it adjusted if working? Does anyone else worry about the electronic choke in their cars or just switch them out for manual chokes?
