What to buy, S70, 850, 960, S40?

Looking for advice on a good first car for a 17 year old. I have a '91 240 with 200k plus that still runs good but I'm looking for something a little newer and more reliable. I see a lot of S70's, 850's, and 960's for sale in my price range (less than 7k) but don't know much about any models but 240's. I don;t even know which are RWD, FWD, AWD. Any advice is appreciated!
