1992 940 GL heater blower has water in it.... 900 1992

I just removed a faulty heater blower from my 92 940, and it had water in it!

The unit was a replacement, as the wires were spliced in by a previous owner (the clip was gone). Could it just be a faulty install, or a poor fitting unit? Or is this a known issue for these cars?

I got a replacement from a junkyard car, and it appears to be OEM. As soon as I go back for the clip (idiots...) I'll install it. I don't want to have the same water problem return, though!
