Hey guys-
Ok- I'm toying with the idea (and aggravation) of doing the header pipe and cat on my wife's '88. Having done several cat-back exhausts at home with no problems, I figure it can't be much more diffcult. Am I wrong?
I have a fairly comprehensive tool collection, including air tools. However, theres one catch- I don't have access to to oxy/acetylene for bolt/nut removal (at least not yet- maybe santa will help me out). Can a propane or MAPP gas torch be used? Is it even neccessary? Or will PB blaster suffice?
For those who have done this job successfully without a torch, would you mind posting the exact method you used (jackstand height, tools used, best method of access to bolts, etc.) to remove the header at the exhaust manifold flange without breaking anything? Step-by-step would be great. I've read a lot of posts on this subject, but I'd like to know the specifics since it will save me a lot of time and aggravation.
As always, thanks in advance.
