I am in the process of replacing cooling system parts. The radiator in my car looks like a quite new Volvo part. Is there a date stamp somewhere on it? I don't want to replace it unless I have to.

In a related matter - when I flushed the coolant, there was a lot of sediment (about 1/2 cup full). Where does this come from usually? What is the likelyhood that the radiator could be weakened to the point where the coolant and trans fluid could mix?
