The dreaded smell of maple syrup S90-V90

Whenever I park the car (especially, in the garage), I catch a big whiff of the maple syrup smell that is typically associated with coolant. Problem is that there are no visible leaks, and my radiator fluid is not disappearing at an alarming rate (I top up the reservoir ever couple months). Is this a sign of a faulty radiator cap? Why am I smelling this stuff so profusely?
