M46 OD Switch - Duane Help! 200 1982

After I replaced the Solenoid, thanks to OD Guru,
it's been an absolute pleasure to drive.
Suddenly, two days ago the OD stops engaging.
The dash light doesn't go on when pressing shifter switch.
A few times I banged the shifter and the OD engaged with light on,
then had to go to neutral to disengage OD.
I took the switch apart and tried connecting the wires manually
in 4th gear to no avail. Now, even banging is useless.

Does it sound like a switch wiring issue or might it be
the relay/4th gear switch?
