A few problems recently popped up on my '93 940.
1. The adjustable sideview mirrors no longer work-whenever I press either the left or right stick the radio deck(stock cassette/radio) shuts off and the mirrors don't budge. When I release the switch the radio turns back on. My father took it to the shop for other reasons but they said it has to do with the aftermarket speakers I installed on the doors drawing too much power and the radio turns off as a safety precaution.. However, I had the same speakers installed over the entire summer and it never had this problem.
2. The ABS light comes on when I start up and shortly after the "arrow up" indicator lights up too. I've looked in the faq about the abs problem and several suggestions say to look for a blown "hidden fuse" under the dash. I can't seem locate this fuse so any pointers on where it is and how to remove it would be appreciated.
3. The Speedometer/Odometer stopped working at the same time the ABS lights came on. Suggestions in the faq say to check for a burnt wire at the sending unit in the differential cover. How do I access this to check for it? Or should I let the shop take care of it?
4.I noticed the engine on my '93 940 is louder than usual. The RPM at 30mph hovers around 3000 and up when I go faster. If I remember correctly it should normally hover around 2000. Is something fishy as i suspect?
5. The moonroof seems to stick 2 inches before completely closing. I have to press the flap in the front down for the roof to completely close. What should I do about this?
Again, I love my volvo and will do what I need to take care of these problems. Any kind of input or suggestions will greatly be appreciated and taken into consideration. Brickboard's been a great help so far. Thanks.
