I'm preparing to replace my door latch mechanism (I have the new part on hand), and it basically will require removing the linkage from the old mechanism where it is riveted on, and then riveting it on to the new mechanism assembly. Unfortunately, the rivet is not your run-of-the-mill aluminum pop rivet--it appears to be solid and made of steel--and I doubt that such an aluminum pop rivet would be sufficient for this application.
Are rivets like those used on the door mechanism commonly available somewhere, or am I going to have to track down a Volvo parts vendor that carries this?
