740 Doesnt catch and start immediately after sitting over night? 700 1991

I wonder if anyone has a comment on this.
My wagon starts fine during the day as I'm travelling around.
(see my post about the icv issue)
BUT
When it sits overnight or longer, when I crank it, it doesn't start within a couple of cranks as it normally does... is there a check valve in the fuel line by any chance that may be allowing fuel to drain out of the line overnight?
The car's got a new fuel filter and the pump is about 5 yrs young...
I've not checked the relay, but once started the car idles fine!
