I hope to get my car painted this Spring so I have done some body work and I took almost all the adornments off the car. I'd like to get them all shiny before I put them on to the freshly painted Amazon.

What are the best ways you know to make shiny and protect these types of metal:

Aluminum -- ?
Chromed Steel -- ?
Chromed Potmetal -- ?
Chromed Plastic -- ?
Stainless Steel -- ?
Bakelite (not metal, I know) but is very dull or brownish on many of my parts) -- ?
