Carpet padding - insulation 200

Hello,

I asked these questions a little while ago but got no reply. Maybe someone will stumble on it now.

I will be replacing the carpet in my 244 in a little while, as part of a bigger interior project. I haven't found the black carpet yet but I am wondering about insulation. I searched the forum but didn't find definitive information on a couple points.

I have already bought 60sqft of eDead, some Dynamat-like dampening material, that I intend to cover the floor with, but I would like another layer of sound insulation between that and the replacement carpet to cover the whole area as well. Any good experience with anything available at the home or auto store? How about carpet foam padding sold at home depot? (asked multiple times in this forum but not answered). Very rare to find a Volvo in the junkyards around here and when you do find one, it's usually in pretty bad shape.

Also, another question: while covering the floor with the eDead, what should be, or more precisely, what should *not* get covered, knowing that the thing will be stuck on there for good. Any specific access areas that must remain uncovered? Any holes that need to remain accessible? Knowing that more little uncovered areas will be a weakness in the sound insulation.

Thanks for any info!
