Kickdown Cable Installation Problem....93 940 900

Hi All,
First post for some time.

Purchased an MTC kickdown cable from FCP Groton. Job went well till it was time to press plastic housing into the top of the transmission.

Problem...the 'O' ring moves from its correct location and slides up the housing.

When compared to the old cable the new cable's 'O'ring appears to sit out too far.
