replacing locks, and lock is stuck in up position 200 1990

1990 244DL

I have switched the driver's lock from Paul into Junior. However, now the lock is stuck in the up position, and I can no longer operate it from inside the car, nor will it operate the other doors. The key will turn all the way to unlock, but is obstructed by the mechanism inside the door when I try to lock it.
Prior to taking out the original lock, I could lock the doors from inside.

I only disconnected the collar, unscrewed and removed the retaining bracket, and removed the lock, then reversed the process to connect it all again.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can get Junior on the road.
