this is the third tailgate i've had that's given me the same problems, so there must be a fix out there that i don't know about. every now and then (especially after locking/unlocking the car) the outside hatch release button does nothing - it gets really loose and will not unlatch the tailgate. I have to go from the inside and open the tailgate, then remove the fabric panel and slide a rod that connects from the lock to in front of the button back in place. almost every time i open the hatch i double check that rod, but still I have to open from the inside several times a week, its getting a little old.
so dear brick board gurus, how do i fix this?
