The rod slides in this things that often breaks.. Sometimes the power door locks get disconnected from the bar, and it gets pulled out too much.. You can either disconnect the power lock (which is a small rod which attaches to the larger rod. We had one here that broke, and I tried to get a 3-4 inch long bolt in there, so that the outer latch part would come in contact with the inner part, which always seems to be connected with the inner release handle.
