As I was coming home in my faithful 1984 245 daily driver, the engine died. I put her into neutral and coasted into a friendly parking lot. Since the gauge was on toward empty, I hoped it might be a gas issue. Walked home, got a jug'o'gas and went back. Installed the gas (about 2 gallons) and tried to start. No go.
I've checked the fuel pump fuses, in tank and out, but haven't been able to check the actual pumps, yet. I also haven't been able to check the spark, yet - no handy assistants or tools. But my question at this time is this:
Are there any specific problems for an 84 245 that I should check for first? Any chronic anomalies inherent to this year/model? I've looked through some of the posts, current and archive, but haven't spied anything promising, yet.
Any helpful hints will be appreciated and a local Palm Beach Florida mechanic suggestion wouldn't hurt either. I have an almost complete '81 245 I can get parts from, but I'm a tired old guy and would consider actually paying for some assistance.
Thanks in advance.
