Upgrade to Dual Rear Breaklines...Minor Issue 120-130

If you've noticed, I've been upgrading my early 1967 P220's single circuit brakes system with the dual-triangular circuit system from my departed 1971 1800E. I upgraded the MC a while back using a conversion ring, and now I'm upgrading the brake plumbing to match the 71E's rear end. The front end was easy, but the rear is posing more of a challenge.

I've run into a little trouble with the last part of the two rear brakelines.
I removed and mounted the two rear brake limiter valves and mounted them to the underside of the 122. For the 1800, these two valves were mounted close to the rear axle and connected to the axle via dual flex lines. I recall that the main brake hardlines screwed directly into the limiters because I only just removed the hardlines for cleaning and polishing the limiters.

I know that that 1800 was built on the 122 sedan frame, and that Volvo designed the wagon version to be a near match - with the wagon being only a couple inches longer that the sedan. Knowing this, I expected that I'd be able to reuse the 1800 brakelines and things would work out properly.

However, after I installed the new second line, I realized that no matter where I installed the limiters, there was no way that the lines would be long enough.
The P220 used a short patch-line with the limiter mounted vertically to part of the frame, but the 1800 apparently did not.

I've read several accounts of upgrading the brakes for the Amazon, but nobody has ever mentioned that the hardlines would be too short. Did I miss something somewhere?

I've resigned myself to making a couple male/female patch lines, but am I risking trouble here? Should I just cu the lines get a double-ended compression fitting and use that to lengthen the troublesome hardlines?
