Oh heck. The guys a Midas used compression fittings to "fix" the left front brakelines on my old 1990 745 so I assumed that that sort of repair was safe.
This is more concerning as I used a pair of compression fittings to fix the both rusted-through lines to the right front caliper... That could be serious trouble.
I guess I had better get those lines out and put on a proper double-flare and use some brass m/m m/f type connectors.
Fortunately, I have a lot of spare brake lines about. An extra half set was included with the car purchase, I have the original lines that I removed when I installed the double-circuit, the 1800 lines of course, and some short lines that came with a 1968 style double-circuit MC.
