Idle prob, 79 242 200

Is there another means of controlling the idle and air flow, besides the auxillary air valve? This B21F has, the best I can tell, a bad aux air valve. I can set the base idle but it never remains the same. Sometimes it will idle a few minutes other times it quits after reving the engine. Checked the colod start, its ok. No vacuum leaks. Manual fuel distributor, flow control, seems to be in tolerance. The aux valve is reading 48 ohms instead of 30. Is that too much out of tolarence? I hate learning a new system. I was just hoping there is a replacement device for the aux air. Yea, I know, the replacement is a new one..Is there not a way to use an updated air control valve like the later models.Max
