780 Turbo Cruise Control Problems

When I bought my 780, the cruise control was not working. We have finally got around to trying to diagnose and repair it and have run into some weird problems. All electrical and vacuum circuits check out. We have tried three different speedo heads for the speed pickup, we have also tried three different cruise control modules with no improvement. The only problem we can find is that although all the inputs to the module are as the wiring diagram requires, the output on the yellow and red wire to the vacuum pump is dead ... on ALL three modules we tried. We tested the vacuum pump by jumping it with 12 volts and it runs properly. The leads from the switch stalk on the steering column all check out OK. Anyone got any ideas what the heck is going on ?? We'll appreciate any help you can give us .
