AC Quit 200 1990

Just replaced everything on A/c including condensor, evaporator, blower motor. fan switch and resistor. Replaced compressor and air dryer last year. Any way after working fine the compressor failed to kick on. checked fuse okay, ended up jumpering from pos battery terminal to pressure switch on dryer and compressor kicked on. The only thing I haven't replaced is the ac relay and thermostat switch. I have no power to either side of the pressure switch on dryer. should I have power on one side of the pressure switch when the AC thermostat is turned to cool and the blower motor on? If i should what could be my problem.
thanks JMSH
