driver seatbelt 700 1990

The seatbelt no longer clicks into the seatbelt connector on the driver's seat. I suspect the 'spring' mechanism inside the connector has worn-out. I believe I need to remove the seat to remove the connector (please correct me if I'm wrong). Right now my concern is parts. Do I need to order a complete seatbelt replacement kit, or can I just get the connector? Also, can I swap the connector with the front passenger seat's seatbelt connector, until a replacement arrives?
