A/C Stops on Inclines 900 1996

When driving up a hill and accelerating the A/C will stop blowing cold air for a few seconds until I get to the top of the hill. I had one person tell me that this is a sign that your compressor is about to go out. Any thoughts? I bought this 960 in 2003, at which time the seller stated that the entire A/C system had been redone. Is this anything to worry about?
