93 940 turbo hesitates and stumbles under hard accelaration and a little black smoke 900 1993

hello, I have a 93 940 turbo with 156k miles. It runs great but when I get in the gas hard it hesitates and stumbles, with a little black smoke out of the tail pipe I am told. I pulled off all of the turbo hoses and checked them for cracks or tears and found nothing. I belive the black smoke means it is running rich. There was a lite coating of oil in the turbo hoses. But there is no shaft play on the turbo. What else should I check. Thanks for all of you guys help.
